Haynesville Shale
Haynesville Shale Development Portfolio
New Century Exploration controls approximately 5,000 net acres in the northern portion of the highly productive Haynesville Shale trend, encompassing acreage in Caddo and Bossier Parishes, Louisiana, and Harrison County, Texas.
The company's position includes two Haynesville units currently producing from horizontal wells originally drilled by Chesapeake Energy during the early development phase of the play. As drilling and completion technologies have advanced substantially since those wells were completed, New Century believes there may be opportunities to enhance reserves and production through refracturing operations and additional infill development.
The majority of the company's acreage remains undeveloped from a Haynesville perspective and is held by production from the shallower Cotton Valley formation, providing valuable lease retention while preserving future development flexibility.
Importantly, recent Haynesville activity surrounding New Century's acreage continues to validate the resource potential of the area. Successful offset development by operators including Trinity Operating in Louisiana and Talos Energy in Texas demonstrates the ongoing commercial viability of the play and supports the attractiveness of New Century's acreage position.
With a combination of existing production, held-by-production acreage, potential refracturing candidates, and undeveloped drilling inventory, New Century's Haynesville assets represent a significant long-term growth opportunity within one of North America's premier natural gas basins.
